Hello, I have a Golf II TD engine (1.6L, 51 kW) that I'm currently installing into a different car, and I'm now facing the issue of the glow plug control.
Question 1: Where is the temperature sensor located for the preheating relay in the Golf engine? (I can't find it.)
Question 2: The pin assignments for the relay (30, 87, 85, 86) are clear, but what is pin 50? What do 'L' and 'T' refer to? Are they necessary? Or is it sufficient to connect the temperature sensor between 30 (+), 85 (-), 86 (ignition - 15), and 87 (output)?
I bought the engine from a junkyard, and unfortunately, it doesn't have any information about its year of manufacture or other details. The vehicle that the engine will be installed in is a gasoline-powered car. That's why I'm trying to design the glow plug system to be as simple as possible.
Thank you all in advance for your answers.
Nowayray.

Question 2: The pin assignments for relay 30, 87, 85, and 86 are clear, but what is 50? What do 'L' and 'T' represent? Are they needed? Or is it sufficient to connect 30 to positive (+), 85 to negative (-), 86 to ignition (15), and 87 to the output?
50 = Current draw for the starter motor.
L = Indicator light.
T = Temperature sensor
If you connect the ground wire to terminal 85 through the temperature sensor, the relay will not function.
