Hi,
The car, a 5-cylinder with a BKD engine and an *** chip, isn't performing very well. It's only reaching 215 km/h on the speedometer with the accelerator pedal fully pressed, which is quite disappointing.
What other MLOps metrics (besides 10 and 11) should be tracked to obtain good, helpful results?
Please include the diagrams tomorrow.

@vagtuning:
What RPM does the engine reach at its maximum speed?
Please log the injection amounts (driver request, torque limitation, soot threshold) across the entire RPM range under full load.

I need to figure out which channel it is.
I'll try logging values 10 and 11, and then see what happens.
The speed is currently around 1200 RPM, which is still within the normal operating range... so it should still be able to handle a little more. Adding 10-15 more units wouldn't have caused any problems... but every 8L engine with a 130 HP 1.9L engine would have easily handled it.

Hi,
Could it be that your tuner forgot to remove the V-Max limiter?
Best regards, Rudi.

Okay, but we agree that a car with 170 horsepower, according to the speedometer, should be able to achieve more than 215 km/h, right?
'Sorry, but if you subtract the deviation, the result is quite disappointing... especially because you have to let every 130 HP, 8-liter car pass you, and even today, you have to let a normal 3-series GTI (115 HP) pass you on the highway... I didn't think the 3-series would be able to keep up, but it did... it just managed to stay close behind, and at the exit, I signaled to the driver and asked if it was a 16V... he said no, and he opened the hood... it was just a normal 2-liter, 115 HP 3-series GTI.'
That's really, really bad!

Hi,
If your car reaches its maximum speed (Vmax) without any modifications (i.e., at or beyond its maximum power output), then even if you modify it extensively, it will not become significantly faster, or possibly not faster at all.
Assuming an engine speed of 5200 RPM, you would have 4000 RPM at maximum speed, and that is usually also the point where maximum power is reached. There really can't be much more.

Who says that the engine has 170 horsepower?

That's what company A.B.T *g* says; he should have it, at the very least.
Here are the logs. Maybe someone can explain how to create a graph from them. I've been trying for an hour now, and haven't managed to produce anything really good.
EDIT: Okay, that's enough.http://vagtuning.piranho.com/LOG-01-008-004-dreh.CSV{MARKER}http://vagtuning.piranho.com/LOG-01-010-011-xxx.CSV{MARKER}

So, that's actually quite easy to achieve.
Using Excel is already a good idea, vagtuning.
Instead of simply opening the log file, open Excel, go to the "Data" tab, choose "Import Data," specify a comma (,) as the separator, and you'll get a large number of columns. The rest should be quite simple from there.

P.S.: I'm not an expert on these values, but it seems strange to me that approximately 410 Nm of torque is required at around 4000 rpm, while the torque limit is 390 Nm and the soot limit is below 300 Nm.
However, the accuracy of this statement is not guaranteed, as I am not familiar with the subject matter. However, if the threshold is significantly lower than the requirement, it may be possible for problems to arise. However, I think this makes sense, especially in the higher RPM range, but it shouldn't be the case in the mid-range.
I only looked at the first log. Wouldn't it be interesting to learn more about the amount that was injected?

I looked at a couple of other forum posts, and in those cases, the smoke emission limits were always higher than the torque limits.
In our case, as mentioned before, the smoke limit is always significantly below the torque limit. Does this make a difference? Is this correct? And could this limitation have the effect described?
As far as I can tell, the boost pressure and air mass appear to be completely fine.

Well, if it were a normal VP or a 2V-PD, I would say "Bingo, something's wrong, so continue investigating in that direction."
But I'm not familiar with the control strategy of the 4V-TDIs, let alone your tuner -> so all I can say is "it might be..." Gruß Ulf

I can't see the logs because the session was automatically terminated for security reasons.
It was only possible as long as Web.de still thought you were logged in... After 1 hour, that was it...

Hi,
I once looked up the specifications for the engine, and it stated the following:
008 Limiting factor 1
Coolant temperature: minimum 75°C.
1) Motor speed
Idle speed: 810...940 /min.
At full load: 2800...3200 /min.
2) Requested torque (throttle).
Idling: -5...0 Nm.
At full load: 350...420 Nm.
3) Torque limitation.
Idle: 100...200 Nm.
At full load: 350...420 Nm.
4) Smoke control.
Idle: 100...200 Nm.
At full load: >= Torque limit (see field 3).
And as far as I can see, the smoke limit is always below all other values.
Now, the question of price:
What's the reason for this?
- The boost pressure/air mass seem to be good... But is the software calibration in the engine control unit correct?
