Happy 3rd Advent everyone!

I'd like to ask for your help again.

After reading all the posts about performance issues, I took a half-day to check the highway and worked through the specified measurement blocks (Group icon_cool.gif, and I was able to record some of them. However, I can't upload them here yet because my computer is in use.

Actually, all the values were within the specified range. The only thing that caught my attention was that the smoke limit was set at 48mg in the lower area and 45mg in the upper area, and the actual amount was exactly at these values. Based on everything I've read so far, these would be good values for a standard vehicle!

However, since my car has a tuning (no box), I think this is a bit too low.

So, my question is:

- Has anyone ever lost their 'tuning' before?
- Does anyone have a log file for group 8, a modified AFN, or does anyone know what the smoke limit is here!

Thanks for your answers!

hi Audi 200 (Is it a diesel?)

I can confirm the effect. My AFN shows the same values - the pressure gauge and stopwatch confirm the injection values at the exhaust, (despite 1.4 bar LD)

This means the following:

Because the tuner essentially had no idea what to change in the software, he simply checked when and where the software was sending the control voltage for the ESP to the outside, and then changed the value via software. The control unit still believes in the 45-48mg. The pump is diligently trying to achieve 60mg.

That's why you're still reading uncalibrated values from the MSG, and the workshop (at least mine) confirms that it's a 'damn good' example.

Is that correct?

So, a 10c tuning in chip form... it doesn't get much more primitive.

So, a 10c tuning in chip form. . . it doesn't get any more basic.

Basically, you're right, but it's been done a lot more than just adjusting the injection timing, and the control values of the NBF and ESP have been changed so that the MSG doesn't really notice anything.

But I think that the maps weren't changed on my car.

Do you mean that with the 'control unit doesn't register'!

Very Simple: Modern control units are equipped with a variety of control functions that are intended to detect deviations from normal operation. In this complex self-check, newer MSG units require years of programming work. Several so-called 'electronic errors' are due to these OBD - On-Board Diagnosis functions.

Example: In my case, I can still manipulate the LMM and AGR signals as I please, and the MSG will notice this and issue an alarm. The feedback from the ESP to the MSG can no longer be arbitrarily changed, even though the tolerance of around 20% is quite high.

If I don't want to modify the core program, I can create a routine that increases a signal under certain conditions, while simultaneously decreasing another value based on that signal. This way, the core program won't notice anything.

The command that queries specific values from a device can be easily found in a program.

A more elegant solution would be to modify the parameters, but this requires them to be deciphered first. However, you'll never know exactly how the programmer actually worked.

by the way, I have a PM for you
