"I've been having increasingly bigger problems with the immobilizer system in a Passat 1Z for some time now. I actually built a key myself, milling out a cavity in the head and gluing the transmitter inside." For a few months now, it has been happening more and more frequently that the engine stalls and I have the message "Key - signal too weak" stored in the system.
What's the best thing to do in this situation? I mean, it's been working well for almost 9 months...

I don't have a second transmitter.

P.S. Is it possible to re-pair the sender using VAG-Com?

Please post the complete error log.

VAG-COM > Select > 25 - Immobilizer/Anti-theft system > 02 - Fault Codes/Error memory > Copy Codes

Okay, aside from the specific code of the error message, it seems like the signal from the transmitter is too weak. According to the text in VAG-Com, that is what it says.

The problem is that the transmitter no longer even works with the original key. What can we do now?

Is it possible to obtain a transmitter from VW and program it using VAG-Com? How would that work?

What's so difficult about posting the exact code?

The problem is also that the transmitter no longer even works with the original key. What can be done now.

Please post the error code here...

Yes.

How would that work?

Hmm, if the transmitter is no longer recognized even by the original key, I would first test the receiver, specifically the reading coil. They tend to break down after a few years.

Often, it's just the connector between the control unit and the reading coil that's the problem, and cleaning the contacts has helped in more than one case.

'Nevertheless, error codes would be quite helpful... perhaps there are other ideas as well.'

Hmmm... well, posting the error code isn't difficult, it's just that I'm at work right now and my laptop and car are at home... I don't always have time in the evenings (for example, my wife might have been out using the car). I'll catch up.

Where exactly is this questionable contact located?

Okay, my error memory has come up with something new.
I once removed the casing and held the transmitter directly against the coil.

Now I'm only getting the error code 01128-immobilizer reading coil.

There's a black cable connected to it. I fiddled with it once, and now it starts up more often. It seems like there's a loose connection in the reading coil.

You can order them individually. Does anyone have any tips on what to consider during installation?
