Hello.
Initially, when I used the windshield wipers on my Golf, only the nozzle would rotate. However, now water is leaking out of the motor.
The problem is with the broken brass shaft where the nozzle is inserted.
Due to a crack in the wave, water is flowing through the trunk lid and into the trunk.

The component with this tube has the following number: 1 390 750 006.
and this is what the part looks like: http://auth.fh-vie.ac.at/filemanager1/dieter.jank/PICT0001.JPG

Can you buy this part from VW?

Unfortunately, my source says "no replacement part available."

The G3 wiper has a set available with the part number 1H6 955 985, priced at approximately 5 EUR.

I have no idea whether that might be a good fit.

Hello Dieter,

I already posted the part numbers for the repair kit in the Golf forum.
Do you happen to have a Valeo motor in it?

I don't know, as I couldn't find any manufacturer's markings.

Yes, there's a separate part specifically for the Golf 4. It costs about 3 euros plus installation. I don't have the part number, but a good dealer should know it.

Perhaps just a quick tip.
"In my Golf, this tube was also defective, and the previous owner didn't notice it for a long time. Water was constantly running down the inside of the tailgate and over the handle. Apparently, the seal on the handle deteriorated due to the water. In any case, only about 3/4 of the seal remained when I removed it. This resulted in extra water entering the tailgate through the handle (during rainy drives). As a result, the tailgate now has an unsightly rust spot in the lower fold (inside). I should also mention that the handle already shows signs of oxidation. Perhaps someone could take a look at it during the repair."

Hello,
Okay, so this tube is definitely available, we've installed it several times before. Just make sure that about 1.5 cm of the old pipe remains, otherwise it won't work.
As Wutz mentioned, be careful with the moisture, especially around the microswitch in the rear lock, otherwise you might need a new one.

Good luck.

Maybe just a tip on the side.

Hm, another important point in this context:

If water drips onto the microswitch of the tailgate lock, it can trigger the factory-installed alarm system. This often happens without an obvious reason and at night, so that the neighbors can also hear it.

Often, simply blowing out the microswitch is enough to fix it, especially if the problem is detected early.

It's also a good idea to occasionally check the rubber hoses. Recently, the hoses came loose in two places (near the engine and in the left side compartment), which also damaged the CD changer.

The vehicle is a Passat 3B, manufactured in 1999.

Best regards, WarLord.

icon_mad.gif I'm having the same problem!! In my case, the tube also broke, but quite high up! I'll inquire at the VW dealer.
I'll let you know!

I've experienced that before as well, and back then there wasn't a repair kit available. I fixed it using parts from model-making accessories. However, it only lasted for about 2 years.
Now I have a Valeo motor instead of a Bosch one (let's see how long it lasts...).

Apparently, there is now a repair kit available, although it is likely not from VW, but it is available from many VW dealerships.

Hi,

The replacement part is an official VW spare part, but it is only available from Valeo and is regularly stocked by all dealers.

Hi,

The replacement part is an official VW spare part, but only for Valeo and is regularly available at all dealers.

In Austria, this product is not available or cannot be ordered!
You can only have a tube inserted.
