Airbag sensor issues, 1997 model, type 1H1 (Solution)

The vehicles affected are those manufactured in 1997, model type 1H1.

In some vehicles, an incorrect state of the side sensors can cause the airbag warning light to illuminate. The following message appears when reading the engine control unit:

"Crash sensor, side airbag - undefined switch state."

Solution:
If, when reading data with a diagnostic device, the message "Crash sensor, side airbag - undefined switch status" appears among other messages, then the airbag control unit needs to be replaced.
