Hello everyone!
Last week, I replaced the windshield wiper motor on my Golf4 because the nozzle was spinning again

.
After the initial functional test, I was quite surprised by the motor's wiping behavior. In the wash mode, meaning when water is properly supplied by the pump, the motor behaves as expected. That is, it continuously wipes from one extreme position to the other (180°).
I was surprised, however, when I tried the intermittent mode, because now the wiper arm pauses for approximately 60° each time during the first wipe, and then only pauses in the middle position for each subsequent intermittent wipe cycle.
Supposedly, the wiper motor comes from a 2002 Passat wagon. Can anyone in this forum confirm this unusual wiper behavior, or is it actually a defect?
I'm actually only familiar with rear wipers on the Golf and A3 that operate continuously, meaning they wipe the entire 180 degrees without stopping.
Thank you for your feedback.
Regards,
Alex.
