Hello everyone.
It's not that I suddenly want to switch to a different provider; right now, there isn't any offer available that completely satisfies me.
However, since VP turbos will eventually be discontinued, and diesel options outside the Volkswagen Group in my vehicle class have only offered fuel consumption comparable to VW models so far, but are significantly inferior in terms of power-to-weight ratio = driving pleasure, my next diesel will likely be a PD engine.
I hope that by then, the PD technology (which is a typical "banana product" – meaning it only matures when it reaches the customer

) will have achieved acceptable reliability and durability.
Recently, I took a look inside some of the popular self-help books from various series that listed "PD engines" on their covers. I expected to find descriptions of the construction of PD engines, DIY checks and repairs, and wiring diagrams.
Actually, I once found a description of how to change the timing belt on a PD machine, and that was it.
Wohlgemerkt als Gesamtausbeute mehrerer Bücher, die laut Umschlag Dieselmodelle incl. Describe PDs.
Otherwise, the usual information about common rail (VP) engines applies: adjust the pump, replace injectors, check wiring diagrams, etc. This is of course also relevant for anyone working on TDI engines, but in the era of common rail technology, it's not something that can be done alone anymore.
Therefore, I have some questions for everyone here.
Did I get "pre-production versions," where only the packaging around the PD models was initially expanded?
Did I miss any information about PD (presumably referring to a specific topic or product)?
"Has anyone seen or purchased any DIY books that include comprehensive information about privacy settings (PD)? If so, which ones are they?"
