Regarding the stretch bolts: Okay, since several people in that thread said it's possible, it probably should be fine. Perhaps I'm simply not brave enough when it comes to my car .
Have you taken a look at the head, block, and gasket? At least the defect should have been clearly visible on the gasket. Was there any sign of damage on the block or head? Possibly even real depressions?
Regards,
Guste.

Hello Guste,
I still have the gasket (I'm going to take a closer look at it). Because the silicone coating was stuck to both the gasket itself and the block/head in places, it was difficult to make a definitive assessment. Around certain gasket holes, there was a fairly light brown residue (presumably from the coolant, G11 - greenish-blue, with signs of rust); however, this was only present because the gasket had a slightly smaller hole diameter than the corresponding hole in the head/block.
Otherwise, I couldn't detect anything (no obvious depressions/marks). Since I had absolutely no white smoke, meaning no water in the combustion chamber, that explanation might also be plausible (although it could only be due to a leak caused by the high combustion pressure).
Since the ZKD (presumably a component) was replaced, there has been no water leakage, so everything is okay so far.

Here is the ZKD+ZR exchange for the...
G3 (1.9 TDI, 90 hp, first registration 11/95), 1Z, Avenue air conditioning.
summarized in an Excel sheet.
I have described it to the best of my knowledge and belief.
Of course, I assume no liability.
It might help those who are trying it for the first time.
greetings broesel

My AJM engine is still experiencing the same minor issue after 35,000 km, and so far, it hasn't gotten any worse or better. As long as it stays like this, I won't replace the ZKD (zero-crossing detector) or attempt any other repairs - never change a running system!!!

Should you use the original pink-red coolant from VW?
Can you see a leak going OUTWARDS, indicated by the pinkish-red residue?
to identify which substance remains as a residue after the liquid evaporates.
It is also clearly visible even on heavily soiled engines.
I was able to use this method to achieve something that was recommended by a master.
ZKD (cylinder head gasket) replacement is missed because a Y-shaped section of a hose is...
The cooling system was found to be leaking after inspection.
A crack in the cylinder head gasket facing inwards (towards the cylinder) can be identified as follows:
Of course, it's impossible to determine that.
Best regards, Peter.
