Hello,

The fans in my Golf IV (1999, estate/wagon, Climatronic) are no longer turning off; they continue to run even when the engine is switched off.
Here's a brief overview of the error's "history":
A while ago, the air conditioner would shut off after just a few minutes. The problem was that the fans weren't starting, which caused the pressure to become too high. The fan would only start if the refrigerant became too warm.
Therefore, my assumption is that the climate control unit has a fault icon_rolleyes.gif that previously caused the fans not to start, and now has another fault } that prevents the fans from turning off...?.?.
Is this explanation plausible? Which control unit could it be, and where is it located?

Thank you very much for your answers.

Thomas.

First, read the error memory and check the contacts of the fan for corrosion and damage, as well as the fan control unit.

Hello,

If I remember correctly, the fan continues to run only upon command from the MSG (Main System Controller) when the water temperature is too high.
When the engine is off, the compressor cannot function, and the refrigerant pressure is irrelevant.
In addition, the Climatronik system, when connected to terminal 15, cannot send a fan request to the MSG (Main System Gateway) to activate an after-run function.

Okay:

Follow Matthias' instructions.

2. Check the water temperature sensor of the MSG.

Best regards, Jochen.
