Hmm, maybe it's worth having the engine control unit reprogrammed for a manual transmission; that might stop it from searching for the GSG (gear selector group).

The engine control units (ECUs) that are typically used with 085 transmissions are usually already set to "manual transmission," which is another reason why I would prefer to post specific data (e.g., a vehicle scan) rather than continue to speculate.

Den Umbau habe ich soweit abgeschlossen. Das 1,2 Steuergerät habe ich ersetzt durch das 1,4 TDI-Steuergerät. Außerdem ist ein 1,7 SDI-Kombiinstrument reingekommen. Nun läßt sich der Motor natürlich nicht starten, weil die WFS mit den Neuigkeiten nicht harmoniert. Anstatt nun in die nächste Werkstatt zu fahren, um alles anzulernen, würde ich es gerne selbst machen. Dazu benötige ich ein Interface und die passende Software. VAG-CI already have OM.
Which interface would you recommend? Besides the initial setup, I want to upload a new tune to the MSG, as well as calibrate the built-in speedometer and also recalibrate two other speedometers that were removed from a Lupo. What other recommended software do I need?
