Hello everyone.

It's about an Audi A4 Cabriolet, model year 2002, with a 2.4 BDV engine and a manual transmission.

"I have a faulty engine control unit with the part number 8E0909552M. My question is: is it possible to install a control unit with the part number 8E0909552C (from a Multitronic vehicle) and then have it programmed for manual transmission?"

Thank you for your help.

Hello,

The coding does not change the VAG part number. If the replacement control unit has never been installed in this vehicle (see the VAG parts catalog), it's highly likely that it won't work properly.
If it was officially installed in your vehicle configuration, then it should be possible to enable it through reprogramming.

If possible, obtain the correct control unit, or ask a tuner if they can clone another one to the desired specifications (only in emergencies, if a suitable control unit cannot be found, as things can go wrong here).

Best regards, Rainer.

Hi everyone, after a long search, I've found a new engine control unit. (It has the same part number).
"Now I'm having a problem because I can't adjust the immobilizer. The vehicle identification number doesn't match the one that's stored in the combination instrument."
Is there a login that allows the vehicle identification number (VIN) to be changed? Or is there another solution?

Thank you for your help.

Thank you very much for the help.

No, but there's a login for learning with VCDS.
You can't really get close to that. icon_wink.gif

It will be easiest to have it done by a professional, or by a skilled chip tuner who can copy the WFS from the old ECU icon_wink.gif.

I went to the service center, and they had to submit a technical inquiry because an error occurred during the guided troubleshooting process when overwriting the vehicle identification number (VIN) in the engine control unit (ECU). Unfortunately, I also didn't receive a response from the technical support department.
It's going to be difficult; there aren't many tuners available in Switzerland, unlike some other places.

Does anyone have any other ideas?

Ask the landlord here - maybe he still has his equipment, and transferring WFS to the new STG is, as far as I know, not illegal. icon_wink.gif

Hello everyone, it's finally working. With the latest VAG Tester update from Odis, the inspection plan could be successfully completed at the authorized workshop. The vehicle identification number (VIN) has now been updated.

Thank you for your help.
