'Yesterday, I experienced a loss of power across the entire RPM range for the second time, after driving about 30 km at a leisurely pace. My boost pressure gauge then only showed half the normal pressure. When you release the accelerator and then fully press it again, the boost pressure only rises to a quarter of the normal full-load value. The next day, the engine runs normally again.'
I've already been looking for leaks in the hydraulic system, but I haven't found any yet. Perhaps someone has a tip on how to best check the pressure system for leaks. Simply running the engine at high speed while stationary doesn't build up much pressure.
Leaks in the pressurized area become noticeable under load through hissing/whistling sounds and external oil leakage.
As long as neither of those things is the case, I would first check the valve timing gear (VTG) for smooth operation.
