@ Bertil
It's not just the filter dimensions that are relevant, but also the backflow preventers/bypass valves.
My contact at UFI wouldn't even recommend a suitable model with a lower bypass pressure!
And regarding the fuel filter, the G3, 1.6 model: I mentioned that it was the 79 x 119 mm one with lower pressure.
He gets two of those, and for the original, thicker ones, you replace the filter every 10,000 miles along with the oil change.
@ nickx
Could you please check if the drive shafts are angled too far forward and if it's possible to move the motor mounts further back so that the large oil reservoir fits?
You want to install more powerful components, so a good filtration system (a large filter) is also a good idea to prevent soot from entering the oil. Gruß, der Teileklaus

Okay, I understand. Therefore, as mentioned in my previous post, the bypass pressure is also included (both at 2.5 bar).

Okay, I didn't know that. Then I would be careful about switching to gasoline engine oil filters. Gruß Bertil

"Bypass low" means that if the pressure exceeds 1.5 bar, the bypass valve opens, allowing unfiltered oil to pass through?" Gruß, der Teileklaus

I was only looking for filters with a bypass pressure of 2.5 bar and a return valve.
According to MANN, both the W830/1 and the 920/8 models have a pressure of 2.5 bar and a RL valve.
According to HUSCH, the 830 model was installed in the Sharan/Alhambra/Galaxy 1.9 TDI 81KW.
and the 920 engine, among others, was used in the 1.9D/SDI and the 1.7SDI models.
Therefore, it shouldn't be a problem at first, right?
I need to take another, closer look at the location of the 1Z.
On the other hand, the brackets on the right and front appear to be original G1 or Caddy 14d parts.
Ideally, I would prefer to restore it to its original condition, but I don't have the time for that right now.
Regards,
Nick.
PS
Not really a significant performance boost.
Only large language models, because the original text doesn't fit anywhere else.

Yes, I see it that way too.

In your pictures, I can see a torque arm. It appears to be an Orogianle 1er model.
I just checked the location of the oil filter on my Jetta 1 GLI. It's located at the bottom, about 10-15cm higher and 10cm away from the front. I'm also missing the water heater. But if I factor in the water heater and the thicker diesel oil filter, then the location might be similar to yours. So, the engine placement might be correct.
Could it be that the filter holder 028 115 417AD from CY is tilted further back to move the filter further away from the front?
To do that, we would need to compare a 028 115 417AD and a 028 115 417 (from the 1Z + JR).
The front of the G1 is noticeably shorter. It wasn't until the G2 that the front end was lengthened. Gruß Bertil

I have it: UFi 23 417 00.
119 (at the edge 110 mm) x 89, 2.5 bar, finally. Costs - 40%. Gruß, der Teileklaus

@ teileklaus :
Do you also have the 920/8?
What is the price for both items, including shipping, in EUR?
Since I'm not sure if the 830/1 will actually fit with only 20mm less space, I want to have the 920 as a backup option.
Because one thing I know: The 840 won't come out in one piece!

That could be. However, I don't really understand the point. There shouldn't be any obstructions between the oil filter and the engine block. In fact, in the G3 with a 1Z engine, power steering and air conditioning, it's more likely to be tight towards the front. Changing the oil filter can only be done from below due to the air conditioning unit. There's a power steering hose running underneath.
I will definitely compare the engine mounting position again with my JP.
Regards,
Nick.

skrtuning performed the same modification.
He also had to install a smaller oil filter because of space constraints.
It seems the engine is actually sitting normally.

Nick.

Alternative idea: I'm not sure if this is possible, but perhaps it would be an option: to create a "wedge" on a CNC milling machine and mount it between the motor and the oil filter housing, so that it's not tilted forward so much; but how much space is there between the filter and the motor?
Greetings

Hello,
I finally got my oil filter changed today.
The W830/1 from the 81kW Sharan fit perfectly.
Now there is also enough space for the front carrier.
The interval between maintenance cycles is unlikely to be shortened as a result.
But getting the old filter out was no fun.
Thank you again to everyone involved.
Regards,
Nick.
