What do you mean by "after encoding"?

Does it require that a control unit must be properly coded before it can be recognized as such by the next system?

Is the FSC (Fitness Station Equipment) not correctly encoded, will the AI system not recognize it, and therefore it cannot be activated there?
"How do I find the correct encoding for the FSE?"

When I connect to my FSE (presumably a fuel cell system), I only have very limited coding capabilities. What could be the reason for this?

I've been searching online for ages and haven't found anything useful, just that, for example, with the FSE (presumably a specific device or system), you have to disable the antenna monitoring to prevent that specific error from occurring, which is the error I'm experiencing.

My problem is that I don't know where to start, so I can't reach a reasonable result.

Fundamental question:
Since I haven't been able to integrate my MFL yet, and it's therefore not yet available via the LIN bus, it's possible that some important coding options are not yet accessible to me.

Hello!

Preliminary report:

I've managed to get everything working so far, except for the FSE, which is still refusing to connect. That makes sense, because the checkmark for MFL isn't enabled in the BCM yet, since I haven't installed it. At least the adapter cable has finally been delivered. So, I'll be integrating the MFL into the system in the next few days, write the necessary code, and then we'll see how it goes from there.

Since my T5.2 MV Startline is equipped with a rain sensor, I suspect that the light sensor is also integrated into the same sensor. There is only one part number for both of them.
In the BCM (Body Control Module), it is also possible to activate the light sensor, which will then also enable the "coming home" and "leaving home" functions. I suspect I just need to retrofit the correct headlight switch with the "Auto" function and connect the appropriate wire to the BCM (Body Control Module).
Correct guess?

Regarding Lcode2:
This coding section offers countless configuration options, with a large number of checkboxes for each coding block, but unfortunately, there is no accompanying text, making it impossible to determine what each option means. Are there any documents available that might help decipher the encoding?

Hello!

Today, I finally had time to install the MFL. Everything is wired according to the wiring diagram, with the original fuse location, etc., etc...

I then checked the box for "MFL Installed" under "MFL" in the BMC (Body Control Module), and it started working. I turned the ignition off and on again to see what would happen. Aha, on the right side of the MFA+ (Multi-Function Display), I can switch between the menu levels, but I can't navigate up and down within the menu. On the left side, I can adjust the radio volume and switch between stations. The phone buttons are not working.

Okay, so, ignition off and on again, now I can switch up and down in the MFA+ menu, but I can't navigate between the menu levels like MFA-Radio- etc. anymore. On the left, I can still adjust the radio volume and change stations. The "OK" button... The button in the middle is still non-functional, but if you press the microphone button, the hands-free system suddenly responds: "No device is connected." Once again, I turned the ignition off and on, and after that, everything basically worked, at least as far as the MFL was concerned.

There's still a lot of silence in the AI field, and the FSE (likely referring to a specific software or feature) isn't showing up for me. When the microphone button is pressed, the word "PHONE" appears on the display of the radio (RCD 310), but nothing else is shown.

I then tried, as a test, to establish a Bluetooth connection between my iPhone 3GS and the car's hands-free system. I get to the point where the PIN is requested, but since there's no display on the screen, I obviously can't see the PIN, so nothing happens.

Okay, here are my questions:

Do the control units need to learn each other's characteristics? Or why were only half of the functions working at the beginning?

How do I set up the display in the AI (artificial intelligence) system?

Okay... the problem is solved...



Since I haven't had much experience with the new generation of engine control units, and my knowledge was limited to the T4 model, I overlooked something quite simple.



The solution is: Bill of materials



I didn't know that there was a configuration list within the CAN gateway. When I checked the boxes for "telephone" and "media interface 3", everything appeared to be working correctly. However, I still need to resolve the issue with the faulty cable connection and the problem with the telephone console. I haven't figured out how to explain to the FSE that there is no phone holder.


Guys, I've never owned a release device as awesome as this one... it's amazing... I'm thrilled!!!!!!!

I once had this FSE (presumably a type of storage device) accessible from a location 150 km away, and when it was finally delivered, it was located 14 km away.

Simulate? What do you mean by that? I had a wiring harness from the FSE that plugged in between the radio and the original wiring harness, so it was pre-wired. There are no free sockets available where the mounting bracket could potentially be plugged in.

@martin

The encoding is only different at the beginning; mine is 01, yours is 02, which, I believe, is related to the vehicle type. The "40 00" at the end of the encoding is interesting.

The control units are increasingly being customized for your vehicle – let's call it "personalized" – to avoid using any terms that are already in use.
You must have noticed this from the list of permitted uses.

In my 3C vehicle network control unit, you can, for example, code how long the headlight cleaning system should wash. To do this, you change the 10th byte in the 23-byte-long coding (values are guessed). You can get help through the LCode program, which translates this long string of numbers into functions.

More recent control units, such as the BCMs found in the Golf 6, Octavia, etc., increasingly offer these individualization options not through coding, but through "adaptation" or "configuration" settings. For example, the number of missed washes for the SRA (Surface Roughness Analyzer) can be entered in adaptation channel 26 (APK 26).

Since the new PFSE (presumably a software feature) only came with MJ11, I would click on "Adaptation" in VCDS and see what options are available. Possibly, there might be a channel for "installed shell".

Unfortunately, I am too far away from the one PFSE, and the other one is arriving "this week."

The reason for the incomplete coding tables is simply that the necessary information is slowly being disseminated. The coding is typically done at the factory or by the service partner, and a change to the coding in the customer service area is generally not provided.

In the coming months, more and more information will gradually become available, as you have certainly noticed; for example, a lot has already changed with the latest data. However, since there are more projects than just the T5, there simply isn't enough time to incorporate everything immediately. icon_wink.gif

P.S.: In my opinion, coding remains the more important function, while customization generally retains its secondary importance in terms of modification and functionality. It becomes very clear when you consider the meaning and priority of parameterization, coding, customization, and personalization.

For your information, everything is now running smoothly, with only two remaining issues. The wiring error hasn't been fixed by me yet, as I haven't had the time to do so.

What I can't seem to get rid of is the issue with the charging cradle. It's really impossible to find anything, neither regarding the coding options, nor anything about "customization"... icon_sad.gif

However, since everything is working perfectly, the solution is not a top priority at the moment.
