Hello!
From Aunt "Edit": This topic is more relevant to posts further down, please read there, thank you
Perhaps my concern sounds a bit amateurish, but I've been thinking about the T5.2 and the retrofitting of GRA (German Rear Lights) and NSW (North Sydney West) with cornering lights for quite some time. Since I'm planning to buy a T5.2, and demo vehicles are often not equipped with the desired features, the question of "possible" retrofitting arises.
My previous experience in this area doesn't go beyond a 2001 T4; things were considerably simpler back then .
Unfortunately, since everything goes through the BNS and can only be encoded there, a replacement of the BNS is unavoidable if you want to add any features. The problem is that I can't figure out which number the BNS needs to have. While the E**A lists the various spare part numbers, it doesn't provide any description of what each BNS is capable of. The differences between various types of connectors are often identifiable by the pins in the connector openings, which may sometimes be missing.
It wouldn't be so bad if you bought a BNS (body control module) for a T5.2 Highline and then programmed everything on it. However, in various attempts, it turned out that the keys had to be re-paired, and the central locking system also had to be programmed so that the car could lock itself. The original configuration (when buying a new BNS) is programmed in such a way that the car is supposedly only able to lock, but not to unlock itself. "Under Vehicle Self-Diagnosis, 012 Adjustments, set the value of channel 99 from 1 to 0, and then the car can be reconnected," according to the statement of a "beta tester."
The next problem is the coding. Unfortunately, I have no experience with the new "long" coding, but I have read here about "VCDS support for long coding." Unfortunately, I don't have a vehicle available to test right now, so I haven't been able to see it yet.
How do I find a BNS (bike navigation system) with all the desired functions, such as GPS routing, navigation with turn signals, and possibly...? Rain/light sensor with associated automatic functions, "Leaving Home" function, etc.

First, it's important to carefully check what type of BNS (Battery Management System) or even a BCM (Body Control Module) is installed. Normally, they can already do quite a lot.
The T5.2 will likely end up parked somewhere between generations of electric vehicles, just like my T5. However, the GRA (likely referring to a specific system or feature) should operate through the steering column control unit, as the vehicle has the same steering wheel and control levers as, for example, a Golf. The retrofitting process for the T5 was a real pain, believe me, I'm speaking from experience.
"First, perform a complete vehicle scan and post the results here." Something's definitely going to happen.
The long coding sequence often includes a helper that guides you through the individual bits, and it's really simple and intuitive to use! |

Hello!
In this case, we're talking about a Multivan Startline without cruise control or fog lights. A T5.2 owner investigated this and discovered that the Body Control Module (BCM) in the location where the cruise control lever connects doesn't have any pins. Apparently, there are supposedly three different versions of the BCM, depending on the equipment. The Startline version without the listed extras essentially offers a simplified version of the BNS.
Unfortunately, I don't have a T5.2 available to perform a scan.

He has a BCM.
Click the ECU Database.
Please provide the MKB CFCA code.
There is a scan included BCM T5GP H+4 H46 http://netech.dkTransparency, Teamwork
... there was another T.
I don't know what the f*ck it was. |

Hello!
Okay, I've reviewed it once.
Meanwhile, the situation has changed. I bought an MV Startline model that has a rain sensor, fog lights with cornering lights, and cruise control.
Next up is the multimedia interface and the new premium hands-free system. To ensure everything is perfect, we'll also add an MFL.
I already have the MFL; it's simply powered with an additional + line, and one line connects to the LIN bus input of the BCM.
Okay, now comes the part where I'm still not quite sure I understand.
How do I now teach the BCM that it has all of this? I honestly have no idea what the new, longer coding system is about. Can my BCM do that?
Another topic is the slip ring. According to AKTE, there are only two slip rings available for the T5.2: one with ESP and one without. Since I have ESP, I assume that the two contacts in the slip ring are present, and I only need to connect the cables to the terminals at the back of the slip ring.
Has anyone had any experience with the slip ring on the T5GP?

Hello!
Okay, now I have everything I wanted, and I'm ready to start coding. Car: T5.2 Multivan Startline CAAC 2.0 CRD 103KW, manufactured in 10/2010.
Unfortunately, I am unable to access any control units with my RossTech HEX-USB Adapter Ver. 1.83. Is my adapter outdated? VCDS is the latest version...
Where's the problem? Did I fundamentally misunderstand something?

HEX-USB = Only K-Line.
HEX-USB+CAN = K-Line + CAN
You need the latter... and I've sent you a private message.

There was never a HEX-USB with firmware version 1.83. If you really have that firmware, then it's a HEX+CAN interface. |

And depending on the control unit, the process is slightly different in terms of 'coding.' That could also be due to operator error. |

Hello!
Okay, I just received the new cable from Rainer, and I'm totally happy.
However, now I have to get used to the new, "long coding" system.
Basically, everything is self-explanatory, but I haven't found all the settings options that I was looking for.
What has changed:
I installed a new MDI unit. Following the instructions, I connected the adapter cable harness to the Quadlock connector and then connected the adapter cable to the MDI. That's it. Everything is working perfectly; all the titles are displayed correctly, both on the radio and in the AI system.
FSE (car audio system) installed, on the original bracket, including GSM antenna, microphone, etc. It was equipped with a QuadLock adapter cable, which simply plugs between the radio and the original wiring harness. I knew it wouldn't work immediately, as I still need to install the MFL (multifunction leather steering wheel) to be able to operate the FSE. However, VW cannot supply the adapter cable between the ring connector and the MFL buttons, and I've been waiting for it since November 22nd. Part Number: 3C8 971 584 A
However, when I accessed the error memory, I encountered a few things.

I understand that a newly purchased MDI might not be properly coded. Also, I'm still missing the MFL, and VW cannot supply the steering wheel adapter cable for the MFL buttons. I'm not sure if that's relevant.
Regarding the phone issue. I find that my iPhone lists the FSE (Freisprecheinrichtung) as "Handsfree," but due to the lack of a display (or perhaps a specific indicator?), I can't read the code required to pair the Bluetooth interface.
Does anyone have experience pairing these devices?

Oh, there's something else...
My Multivan Starline is equipped with H4 headlights. However, I want to install H7 headlights. I found the corresponding coding in the BCM, but there is a specific warning there against making the change, as it could lead to irreversible errors. There's also only the option to choose between different lighting configurations, but what does each one mean?
With H4 headlights, a switching mechanism is activated between the low and high beam to prevent the H4 bulb from burning out. In contrast, with H7 headlights, the low beam continues to operate even when the high beam is turned on. What needs to be selected in this case?

Hello!
Sure, here's the translation:
"Another question:"
Under the Lcode2 heading, there are various checkboxes, some checked and some unchecked, but none of them have any text associated with them. What is the meaning of these settings?
In the error logs, it says "not logged in." How can I register or sign up for something?

You need to try coding it directly in the car. The labels for each item are located there. If nothing is indicated there, it's not 100% certain what that field does. If something is not certain, don't click around randomly.
Whatever is known is always incorporated and then included in the updates. However, it's not always possible to do everything promptly. |

Hi Mullemaus!
Generally, I don't change anything that cannot be clearly attributed to a specific source. That's why I didn't make any changes at the Lcode2 level.
I've already done a lot of searching on Google, and I've found that it's difficult to find any useful information.
How should I approach my coding problem now? Which control unit needs to be "addressed" first, and which one second?
I found a note indicating that, for example, in the case of the FSE (presumably a specific system or device), the antenna monitoring should be disabled, for some reason.
I'm still not sure what I should do with the other error entries.
How do I complete this mysterious "registration"?
The CAN control unit is also complaining because this "registration" is missing.
Best regards,
Thank you,
Peter. VW T5 GP Multivan Startline CAAC 2,0 CRD 103 KW, Audi A2 1,4 16V AUA 2001, Audi A2 1,4 16V AUA 2003;Renault Zoe PHII 135 2020; |

There is always a search for coding solutions when new participants join the CAN network. Even if you save the current version.
Audi is different in that regard; you need to specify the participants for each vehicle so that they can be recognized. |
