Steering Angle Sensor VW Polo 9N

Hello everyone,

I have a Polo 9N with a fault code: 00778 - Steering angle sensor (G85) - 49-00 - No communication.

I wanted to check the sensor in the module control unit (MCU) to see if it was working. However, I didn't really manage to navigate the blocks. This is completely new territory for me. Do you go through each individual MCU block until you reach the "target," or do you already know most of them? Is there any literature I can study? Nevertheless, I was eventually able to locate the sensor, but the value in the block didn't change when the steering wheel was turned.

The steering works perfectly, and there are no warning lights illuminated.

What else can I do here?

Was ist mit the steering wheel? It's possible that the errors are also a result of undervoltage (a defective or discharged vehicle battery).

Make sure the on-board voltage is correct, then clear the error codes and see what happens. You can find the steering angle in the measurement blocks of the ABS/ESP system.
