Hello! I'm having a problem with the basic setting of the steering angle sensor (G85) in my 2001 Passat Variant, 74kw AVB with AG4. After the replacement, the ABS control unit needs to be recoded and the basic settings need to be performed. So, the login and coding were successful, and then the basic settings should be made in measurement group 001, but that's where my problem lies. The G85 is not present in measurement group 001; only the ABS sensors are visible there. I then searched through the measurement blocks, and the value for the G85 is visible in measurement group 005. The problem is that I can't access measurement group 005 in the basic settings. Can someone please tell me how to set the G85?

Best regards,
Jens

Select STG 03 (Brake electronics).
STG Login -> Function 11.
Enter login code...
ECU coding -> Function 07.
Enter code.
Don't forget the workshop code (using 0000 will keep everything as it is).
STG Login -> Function 11.
Logincode: 40168
ECU basic settings -> Function 04.
Turn the steering wheel approximately 30 degrees to the left or right and then back to the center, until the front wheels are pointing straight ahead and the steering wheel is horizontal (tolerance +/- 4.5 degrees).
Check measurement group 001 (sensor for steering angle -G85-).
Now, "Synchronization OK" should appear.

and don't turn the ignition off until now, at the earliest!
(everything copied from WWW icon_wink.gif and it works!!)

Hello, I'm unfortunately experiencing a similar problem with my Polo 9N, 1.4 TDI, manufactured in 2002. I had to replace the airbag spiral cable and the return ring, but I foolishly didn't save the coding that was reset after replacing the return ring. Without the coding, I can't access function 11. Could someone please tell me what the coding is for my Polo?

Best regards,
Martin.
