Hello everyone,

I'm having a problem with my wife's Audi, and I'm hoping someone here can give me the advice I need.

My wife recently started driving a 2001 Audi A6 4B (C5) Quattro with a 2.5 TDI V6 engine, producing 180 horsepower (132 kW), model code AKE.
In my opinion, the vehicle doesn't necessarily have the performance it should, and especially the fuel consumption is quite high (even compared to other 2.5-liter engines).

Okay, I just wanted to quickly check the basic parameters of this system and also examine and, if necessary, adjust the dynamic start-up time.
VCDS is showing me a static value of 0.0 volts for the oil temperature in measurement block 4.
"However, he starts up without any problems and then runs very smoothly." According to my records, he should have a minimum value of 12 before the OT (optical transition) and a value between 0.0 and 4.0 after the OT.

Quite a few of the sensors have already been checked or replaced. The new parts include: mass airflow sensor, coolant temperature sensor (G42), clutch and brake switches, engine oil temperature sensor (Gicon_cool.gif. The diesel filter is also new. It is also properly vented.
Both the timing belt for the crankshaft and the one for the ESP are also perfectly aligned with the top dead center (TDC) position.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

Best regards,
Torben.

Hi,
Under what conditions was the static value measured - speed, load, temperature, etc.? Where is the dynamic injection start point (Screenshot)? What is the fuel consumption, both in cold and warm conditions, and for city driving, country roads, or highways?

Thank you for the quick response. icon_wink.gif

"That's essentially the problem - the dynamic value is being set statically to 0.0 degrees." OT, regardless of whether it's in the late or early position.
Engine speed as indicated in VCDS, in the default setting, at idle, with an oil temperature of 80°C or higher, a water temperature of 90°C, and no load.

The fuel consumption, calculated based on the mileage (with the odometer reset and fuel added according to the distance traveled), averages 9 liters per 100 kilometers when driving on roads (80-90 km/h), and 11.5 liters per 100 kilometers when driving on the highway at 120 km/h.

He practically doesn't know anything about urban traffic. I'm just not going to count the 2 kilometers to the highway and the 500 meters from the highway to the woman's workplace.

He looks strong in the lower body, but somehow constricted in the upper body.

In addition, it can be said that the turbocharger pressure regulation works wonderfully, and the VTG (Variable Turbine Geometry) rods are lightweight and move freely. The charge air cooler circuit is sealed.

Best regards,
Torben.
