a) Write a letter to the VW customer service.
b) Having car insurance and being obligated to accept orders. If TPI exists (obtainable via the Error Database), the customer order (for invoice payment) cannot be linked to any preconditions.

Thanks for the tip! |
What kind of workshop is this, anyway?
Thank you.

Hello everyone,
Please accept our apologies for the lack of updates. It was simply very busy.
The Odyssey continues.
So, we found a small VW dealer who took the car without any major fuss.
He checked the car thoroughly and found nothing unusual. The software update was installed without any arguments and for a reasonable price of 120€. This box was handed over, having been freshly vacuumed and washed.
3 days later, on the A8 from Karlsruhe towards Stuttgart, near the Albaufstieg, the error occurred again. It no longer takes any gas. The engine control light remains as it did with the old software. Step-by-step gear reduction down to 2nd gear, and finally, she reached the next emergency landing area at a speed of 35 km/h.
After 10 minutes, the engine started again and the car could be driven normally...until the Eichelberg. That's the same game again.
I had hoped that with the new software, I would be able to finally read out a previously logged error the next day. Unfortunately, there was nothing in the error memory. I made a test drive and logged all temperatures and deceleration bits. Nothing. It could not be reproduced. Everything is within the normal range.
Back in the friendly workshop. There, the master had driven the box on the highway at high speed, without any findings or events. Back in the workshop, a check for exhaust fumes in the cooling system was carried out out of suspicion... and found. Further investigation revealed that the AGR cooler had a visible crack. After that, there was no more exhaust gas in the cooling system.
Everyone believed they had found and fixed the error. The following weekend, the family's luggage went on vacation to Croatia. In total, it broke down 3 times! On a particularly hot day (38°C), there was no way to cool them down, and they were taken away.
The ADAC partner and corporate contract workshop insisted that the DPF had reached its load limit, even though there was still 20+% "space" remaining until the limit, and I had not detected any noticeable pressure differences or regeneration cycles in the 10 days prior.
In desperation, a trade was agreed upon. So, I spent the vacation with a rental car that was too small, while the Passat received a new DPF and differential pressure sensor.
The hope that everything would now be alright was shattered shortly after Zadar, on the return journey, when exiting the highway towards Sveti Rok. Everything as usual.
Since the car is back in my range, I can't find anything wrong. Even when fully loaded, it doesn't produce any errors on very long inclines at temperatures below 25°C.
Sister is desperate, and I honestly don't know what to do anymore. We're planning to swap cars next week so that I can have more time to test them out.
Okay, if anyone has any insights or information related to this topic, I'm open to any suggestions.
Best regards,
Bo
