Hi Garth,
The 5-iron in my golf set felt a bit too short for me.
I then browsed various wheel manufacturers' websites and found a technical data sheet (TÜV report) for 195/60 R14 tires (the original size is 185/60 R14), without requiring speedometer recalibration.
(In other assessments, an adjustment was required for the same size!)
I was able to get a set of steel rims from a G3 Variant for a cheap price, and they came with almost worn-out 195/60 R14 tires.
I installed them, added my 15 mm spacers underneath, and took them to the TÜV (German technical inspection authority) with the approval document (for completely different rims, of course, aluminum ones).
There, only the freedom of movement was checked, and it was okay -> entry: "paletti" (likely referring to a pallet or something similar).
So, I've managed to increase the top speed in 5th gear by "a good" 4 km/h.
Besides: In my opinion, you can't get a more affordable way to achieve a "fat tire" look

.
