Hello everyone!
I'm a new member and would like to introduce myself briefly. My name is Alexander, and I'm from the beautiful, green region of Styria, near Graz (Austria). My current car is a red Seat Ibiza from the year 2000, with a 1.9 TDI engine (AFN), producing 81/110 [kW/PS].
I've already had a sports air filter and chip tuning installed for some time. According to the Bosch dynamometer, my current power output is 109 kW (148 hp), and a maximum torque of 358 Nm at approximately 100 km/h in fifth gear. Due to this increase in power, I also had to modify the suspension (dampers, strut brace, and control arms).
Here are my questions for you:
I want to get even more power out of this vehicle. I'm considering any and all possibilities. I was thinking about maybe having a different intercooler installed, either the one from a 1.9 TDI PD 150PS engine or the one from a 2.5 V6 TDI engine. Which one is better? What kind of power increase could I expect with either of them? Are there any other ways to get more power?
I hope someone gives me an answer!
Sure, here's the translation:
'Thank you in advance!'

Hello Durts!
It's nice to find someone else from Styria here, greetings!
Regarding your story:
The topic of "the pros and cons of a large intercooler" is described in detail in a technical article. Similarly, the story about the sports air filter is also explained in detail in the technical article.
One possible option is to swap the fuel injectors. You could use the injectors from a T4 with 150 horsepower, but there's also a specialized article on the subject (injector tuning).
 What should be mentioned is:
Always remember that your 1.9 TDI engine is a delicate piece of machinery, and its lifespan is significantly shortened by aggressive tuning modifications. Also, keep in mind that the transmission in your IBIZA is only designed for specific torque levels. If money is no object, you can tune it until everything breaks, but otherwise, I would advise you to be more cautious. This is just a suggestion. Since I assume that none of the modifications are officially approved, your car no longer has liability insurance coverage. The authorities are now quite aware of this, and they are increasingly targeting conspicuous diesel vehicles. I know of cases where cars were seized for inspection, the driver was charged, and sentenced to a suspended prison sentence. The result is a criminal record, and it costs a lot of money for nothing.
It's better to buy a V6 TDI and do some modifications to it. It will last longer, cost the same, and be safer .

Just for information.
At which Bosch service did you have your performance measured, and what does it cost?

I'm not sure exactly where I had it checked, I'll have to look at home. It cost around 70 euros, but I'm not entirely certain anymore... I'll take a look.
greetings, durts

Hi,
The topic has already been discussed extensively, so I would like to ask you to use the search function.
Anything beyond that costs disproportionately much and the durability is questionable. It's better to buy a used Porsche instead.
Best regards, Rainer.

Hi durts,
I agree with Mc_Givertechnik; your car seems to have plenty of power.
to the weight in the best possible way. However, if you enjoy tinkering and also have enough...
Having a lot of small change.
- Turbolader (vnt 17 o. VNT 19)
- the aforementioned T4 nozzles.
- 12mm plunger (we were just talking about this the other day).
'Then it's probably capable of 200 horsepower, but whether it's reliable... well, you can probably figure that out yourself.'
Regards,
arne (with the chip and the T4 injectors)

Okay, I checked and it cost 70.20 euros to have it checked. It was at koch.at, located at Karlauer Gürtel 4, 8020 Graz.

Hi,
Replacing 4 nozzles: approximately 450 to 500 euros.
Replacing 4 new nozzles: approximately 1000 to 1100 euros.
Best, Andy.

For diesel injectors, the entire set of injectors costs €43 from Motopal and €91 from Bosch. But as I said, that's just for the injector nozzle itself. If you want the entire injector holder, that costs between €130 and €160, depending on the type.

@ Peter
Does Henzo only sell dispensing nozzles anymore?
What's the point of pricing ZD (Zero Downtime) if we all have leaky nozzles?
Why doesn't Henzo have nozzle jets anymore, when he used to have them?

Hi,
A few months ago, I contacted Henzo several times regarding nozzles for my AFN.
Unfortunately, I never received a response, so I assume he no longer sells nozzles with holes.
Best, Andy.
