In many vehicles (though mostly naturally aspirated gasoline engines), I have noticed an air flow restrictor (a narrow section in the intake manifold).
My question is: does removing the funnel or replacing it with a pipe that fits the rest of the intake manifold have any (positive) effect?
Please take a look at the topics /viewtopic.php?t=616&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 and /viewtopic.php?t=634. You will surely find many ideas there, and you will certainly be able to form your own opinion about it. In particular, the second topic discusses the "optimization" of the intake path.
