Hello everyone,
I had already reported several times about the squeaking noise coming from my clutch and the related issue. Today, this was the third time the workshop has worked on it, and again, there's no more squeaking, hopefully for a longer time this time.
But let's go through it step by step, so that even those who didn't see the beginning can understand something about it:
March: The clutch is making a loud noise and sometimes makes starting the car feel very abrupt.
Early April: The workshop serviced the clutch, and the rattling noise is gone.
Mid-April: The creaking starts again.
Early May: The creaking sounds are back, just like before the repair, but there's no time to fix it.
Early June: The workshop replaced the master cylinder based on a suggestion from an online forum; the squeaking noise is gone.
Two days later: The creaking is still there, just as before.
Today (I didn't have time before): I took the car to the workshop, and they proactively replaced the Teflon bushings in BOTH brake and clutch pedals. The squeaking is gone, and both pedals feel noticeably lighter.
So, it's possible that it was the warehouses all along... let's see if it lasts longer than a few days this time.
Here's another interesting observation: The VAG letter mentioned by Michael II regarding customer behavior, specifically concerning customers who return with the same issue, seems to be having an effect: I was prepared for a frustrating battle to get a rental car (I needed a car today), as I've always had trouble in the past, but this time it was different: "Of course, we will provide the rental car!"
It was a small Arosa with a 1.0-liter gasoline engine... I've never driven anything so slow... that engine is truly the worst design flaw that the VAG group has ever produced.
Best regards,
Jan is now coupling again, apparently without any noise. 1Z5 CFHF / AHB H4D
