Golf TDI: Stuttering When Coasting to a Stop

I'm new here - although I've visited your page several times before - it's really SUPER and interesting .
I bought a 1999 Golf TDI with an AHF engine a week ago. Now I'm experiencing exactly the problem that is described in the HST (internal VW documentation) and is therefore also a known issue.

'When coming to a stop, the engine starts to stutter just before it completely stops. The HST (presumably a support system) doesn't offer a solution, and they only handle severe cases/complaints.'

Can someone help me with this? Does anyone know about this?

Hi,

Try adjusting it via the engine control unit (ECU) first. The amount of fuel injected at idle, which is calculated by the ECU (and therefore a lower actual amount), needs to be increased. If that doesn't work, search the forum for "adjusting the fuel quantity setting."
If your nozzles are finished and the opening pressure is too low, this will also contribute to the effect you described.

The reason for this behavior is an excessively high actual fuel injection rate at idle and transition effects between the idle control and the "driving program."
