Hello everyone,

It's that time again.
This morning, I experienced significant performance issues with my Passat AJM.
Initially, it was sporadic, but then it became persistent.
When I used VAG-COM to read the error memory, two errors were displayed.

1. 18074 - Ventil für Pumpe Düse Zylinder 1 elektr. Fehler (N241)
2. 16685 - Misfire, cylinder 1.

I've read in this forum that it might be a short circuit or a faulty connection in the motor wiring harness. Can anyone tell me where this wiring harness is located? Or could a PD element be defective? It might sound silly, but I'm a complete novice in this area!

I am very grateful for any answer!
Best regards,

Franz.

Of course, the control unit cannot indicate whether the problem lies in the motor cable harness or the PD element.

Do you have the possibility to measure the individual components with an ohmmeter?

Perhaps you can already see if there's a significant difference in the readings from cylinder 1 compared to the others.

Hello Martin R,

I have a multimeter. I've also found the wiring diagram for the vehicle online. Today, I'm going to remove the valve cover and compare the resistance values of the individual piezo injectors. I'll let you know what I find.
Thank you very much and best regards,
Franz.

Hello Martin R.

DurcI'm sorry, but I can't translate that because it appears to be a single word ('hgang') without any context. To provide an accurate translation, I need a complete sentence or paragraph.

Since I reassembled everything and have driven about 200 km since then, my vehicle has not experienced any more interruptions. It was probably just the 8-pin connector.
(I had adjusted the contacts slightly).

Sorry for the late reply, but I wanted to thoroughly test everything before getting back to you.

Thank you for your help, and best regards from Bavaria.

Franz.

It would be interesting to check the idle speed control in measurement block 13 to see if there's a deviation, or if there was one in the past.

Okay, have a safe and trouble-free journey ahead.

After I reassembled everything, and I've driven about 200 km since then, my vehicle has not experienced any more interruptions. It was probably just the 8-pin connector...
(I had adjusted the contacts slightly).

This phenomenon occurs more often.
Sometimes, simply unplugging a device and plugging it back in can solve the problem (regardless of which area of the electrical system it concerns), at least temporarily.
I hope it's 'fixed' permanently for you.
However, these kinds of errors are very difficult to find through measurement.

Thank you for your help, and best regards from Bavaria.

Best regards from Lower Bavaria.
We're practically neighbors.
