Hello Dennis!

I'm glad it worked out after all.

Have fun with your 'new' car.

Regards,

Knubbi.

P.S.: My current fuel consumption is between 7.3 and 8.6 liters (mostly rural roads and highway).

Hello knubbi,

It's not my Audi, but rather the one that belonged to my dad icon_wink.gif.

My A6, fortunately, doesn't have that problem, but it does have a few other icon_sad.gif.
I'm just saying, KGE and oil losses... and unfortunately, no government guarantee.

Regards,

DENNIS

Post11-02-2005, 13:34    Subject: Have you already measured the cylinder pressure at idle? Quote

hello garfield,

It's possible that your engine's internal pressure is too high because...
Your oil filter element (housing) is broken!

As a result, the flow is far too low, and the engine sometimes smokes blue.

The measured value for Audi AFB should be no more than 5 (but even that is too high).

Potential engine damage if the issue is not addressed.

And by the way, with Audi's used car warranty, the maximum self-contribution amount is €250, so you don't need to worry about paying €900.

Best regards, hd.

Hello quattrotdi!

Thank you for the information. However, I sold the A6 with the oil leak problem 2 weeks ago because I simply didn't want to deal with it anymore icon_mad.gif.
I'm going to change the signature right away icon_wink.gif.
'However, I had already replaced the refrigerant dryer (accumulator), as the internal pressure was around 10 mBar. After that, it improved somewhat. But the valve on the filter housing was definitely okay! It wasn't burning any oil either! And I didn't have any warranty on this vehicle for the refrigerant system!'
The topic, however, was actually just a side issue to the original topic we were discussing! Originally, it was about my father's car experiencing rough running, excessive smoke, and a lack of power. Fortunately, that issue has been resolved for a few months now, and it was fixed after replacing the camshafts, rocker arms, and hydraulic lifters.

Regards,

DENNIS
