Hello,

I'm now thinking about buying a tuning box, but I'm not sure which one to get. I've heard good things about Speedbuster and Hopa from friends, and they have some good offers. What do you think about these manufacturers, and what experiences have you had with them?
Wie sieht es mit anderen Herstellern aus?? Authal etc!!

Thank you very much!

Hi,

For me, the decision is between Lego (box) or Playmobil (chip).
A matter of taste.

Best regards, Rainer.

My colleague once had a PBox installed in his A3 130PD.
It was jerky and had more power than before. It cost 350 euros.

Then he had a chip installed – it provides much more power, and it doesn't jerk anymore. Besides, it's not that easy to prove, unlike something like 'just open the hood and see.'

Hi.

I have a PSI powerbox (sold by A.T.U) installed in my Audi A4 Avant (81 kW), and I can honestly say almost everything about it is positive. The performance is significantly better, but the soot emissions at full load are considerably higher than before. The fuel consumption has increased by a maximum of 0.5 liters, and there's no noticeable hesitation or rough running. I paid €329 for the installation, and it was definitely worth it.

Best regards,
Chriss.

'I don't have anything to compare it to regarding the chip, but I'm already satisfied with the box. However, I think you can achieve the same effect with a 10-cent tuning adjustment, unfortunately without TÜV approval. The values specified in the TÜV report are achieved, and I've managed to eliminate the jerking. The exhaust emissions at full load are no more than in normal operation.'

I can only say: once you've driven a good chip, you'll never want to drive a box again!
I also do a lot of crafting and have tried various things (including some from well-known brands), but the opinions were always the same: 'yes, it's okay' for the box, but 'wow!' for the chip.

Hi,

I have both parts and I've decided to go with the HOPA Box.
The Speedbuster box felt too 'unstable' to me!

However, one should not install these parts, whether they are HOP-UP units or Speedbusters, without proper knowledge.
Connect to the LMM - the accelerator pedal is AMAZING!!!!

In this spirit.
Olli.

Hello icon_cool.gif
It doesn't really matter whether you choose a product from Speedbuster, Hopa, or V1 Tuning.
'Holst, those are the same ECUs, and they exhibit all the same problems when running in idle mode, especially when switched to performance mode. Authal is a slight exception; they use a different approach.'
With the 10-cent tuning, you get the same performance as the tuners described above, and you won't experience any idle problems if you also install the two diodes.
None of the products from Speedbuster, PSI, or Princiotta were very good.
The Princiotta model had the best performance, but it was very aggressive and felt like it was going to shake my front axle right off.
A test conducted between 2000 and 4000 RPM yielded the following results:
Princiotta, 6.55 seconds.
10 cents, 6.75 seconds.
But the 10-cent tuning is quite subtle, yet noticeable.
