Refrigerant compressor oil (e.g., part number: G 052 154 A2).
It should actually mean that the mechanic should only add the amount of oil that the device has separated out, because a significant portion remains in the air conditioning compressor and the other components.
That's exactly how I know it.
When taking measurements for a refill, there is often too much oil in the system, which can potentially damage or destroy the equipment.
'The disc is also broken on my unit. It's very annoying because you either need a complete compressor from Bosch or a magnetic coupling from VW, and both are quite expensive.'
Solution: Salvage a compressor from a junkyard. I found one from a Golf II where the clutch disc fit (compressor from the company Sanden). It cost me 10 EUR, as the compressor was already broken. The disc can be replaced even when it's installed (by removing the compressor without disconnecting the lines) in at least the Golf III. The only problem is that you need a special puller with a 1/4-inch thread to remove the disc from the donor part. However, I had it done for free at a climate control shop that specializes in stationary air conditioning systems. Finally, you just need to install it precisely, because the disc must have only about 0.5 mm of clearance to the clutch, otherwise the metal plates will break again.
