...but probably only because, at higher engine torque, more power is lost in the impeller than at higher speeds and lower torque.

Unfortunately, at that moment, the torque converter is not engaged, and the AG4 transmission, at 2000 RPM with the torque converter clutch disengaged, will either open the clutch or immediately downshift to 3rd gear (also with the torque converter clutch disengaged).
And that's at 80 km/h, with the engine approaching its peak torque.
Instead of utilizing the potential motor torque without losses from a torque converter, it actually creates that torque, thereby increasing fuel consumption and degrading driving performance.

With all due respect, but VAG has once again proven itself to be completely incompetent. Even fully hydraulic transmissions (i.e., without any electronics) perform better.

@Georg-TDI

The reason the coding isn't working is related to the software version. Your transmission has version 3xxx, which operated differently. Unfortunately, versions 4xxx and above no longer differentiate between 'Sport' and 'Economy' modes.

Where do other automatic transmissions excel? The only transmission that does it better is a manual transmission, because it requires a skilled driver.

Thank you.
That was my assumption as well, but it's good that you can confirm it.

Best regards, Georg.

Does anyone have any information about the coding procedure for the AG5 TT5 (Tiptronic) transmission in a 3BG Passat?
A nice label file for the measurement data would also be great!

@corryfan

Part number, software version, and current coding?

@sebastian
A coding table or a table for channel adjustments would be great. I currently have the following information available:
3B0 927 156 S AG5 01V 1.9l-PD RdW 2224
Passat 3BG, first registration 02/2004.
series encoding: 00103
Tried sports coding before (it works): 01103. Workshop code: 05311.
I just want to understand what I'm doing! That's why I'm looking for 'plain language' explanations of the individual code sections.

or even for the engine; --)
038 906 019 KD, G000AG 4897, Engine Code: AVF 96KW PD.

Thanks in advance! I haven't found anything about this here, except for a label file from a Phaeton that Uwe has. Do you think that will work?

Hello.

Yes, a breakdown of the code would be very interesting.

I also successfully switched to the 01103 prefix.
However, I would like to disable this dynamic control program because it is very annoying.

Encoding table...

It is known/available, but there are variations between different model years.

Yes, depending on the make and model year, there are smaller and larger differences, so it's better to wait until a proper version is available.

Regarding the remapping to 01103, here's some brief feedback: icon_surprised.gif reduced "sloshing" losses, slightly shorter shift times, maximum speed (Vmax) is approximately 10 km/h lower, according to VAG-COM, there's a good 20 Nm more input torque at the TT (transmission), the shifting behavior and shift points remain unchanged with DSP (Dynamic Shift Program), and approximately 1 liter less fuel consumption on reference routes (city, country road).
A previously undiscovered economy code for the 01V would, however, be of great help to my progress. new_cry.gif
(ATF III and filter replaced according to GERI's instructions at 30,000 km).

As far as I know, there is no economy code available for the 01V/01J models.

But I'm seriously wondering how you arrive at these values.

Code:
0?xxx: Tiptronic Installation
0 = Tiptronic Buttons/Paddels not installed
1 = Tiptronic Buttons/Paddels installed

@ Sebastian

This has been extensively discussed in various forums - you are certainly better informed about this matter icon_eek.gif.
And: You can feel free to try both encodings on my tractor sometime - I'm often in your area. icon_redface.gif
