I just finished a 15 km drive. About 10 km of that distance, I had to keep holding the door closed. Normally, this 'fun' starts around -10 degrees Celsius or lower. Today, however, it was only -2°C. It's just getting better and better

The problem with the 35i is definitely these plastic covers on the lock. They seem to be oddly prone to becoming loose or shrinking over time...
Since I modified it with the Dremel, my wife likes to drive the car again in the winter.
Are you referring to the problem with the non-locking door handles? If so, what exactly is the issue with the plastic covers, and what needs to be modified on them?
