After checking the speed sensor on my G4 1.4, manufactured in 1999, using VAG-COM in parallel mode, I found that it's not providing a reasonable signal, so I need to get a new sensor. Does anyone know approximately how much VW charges for such a part?
I'm especially interested in how to remove it. Unfortunately, it's hard to see behind the transmission. I couldn't find any hex screws or anything similar, just an Allen screw right next to it. Has anyone here ever replaced this sensor before and can offer some tips? For example, do I need to remove the transmission mount to get to it with a wrench?
