HI

I thought the A5 models always had duplex end tubes.
Yesterday, I saw a car in front of me that had double left turn signals.

What engines are available for it?

(The 2005 A6 even has a showy dual exhaust system with its 140 hp TDI engine and front-wheel drive.)

Definitely the 1.8 TFSI with 170 horsepower. I don't know about the others.

I just took another look at Autoscout, and I found the following models that don't have dual exhaust pipes:

-1.8 TFSI with 170 horsepower.
- 2.0 TFSI engine with 180 horsepower.
- 2.0 TFSI engine with 211 horsepower.
- 2.0 TDI engine with 170 horsepower.

However, those were all the models, and none of them were Quattro versions!

As far as I know, only the Quattros have the dual exhaust system, probably because there isn't enough space for a regular exhaust system in the rear due to the design. For example, this was also done with the Passat 3BG, which had split rear silencers even in the V6 4motion models.

As I said, I also _thought_ that (regarding the Quattro topic).

But an A6 front lip spoiler has taught me otherwise.

On the other hand, the 3C TDI 4Motion does NOT have a duplex system.

It seems to be more of an optical issue.

Martin, what ever changing interests you have! icon_smile.gif From the underpowered bus to the left-hand lane highway drift... icon_smile.gif. Are all the Dublex 3c models gasoline-powered with 4Motion?
Perhaps it also has something to do with the model year and the current trend towards minimalism.

Martin is certainly NOT changing his interests.
"That left-hand turn wasn't properly cleared on the weekend."
It was going around 210 km/h in front of me, but it seemed like it was accelerating a lot.
He fared a little better than I did.
I think he was also a bit surprised that the "Pampersbomber" was even invited.
I always thought the A5 range started around 350 horsepower icon_smile.gif.

I also always thought that all-wheel drive and duplex were related.
To be honest, I've never actually seen a 3C diesel engine with a Duplex system. The Duplex models at 3C that I've seen have always been gasoline-powered.

I just found a 2.0 TFSI Quattro with 211 horsepower. It also didn't have the Duplex system. So, it has nothing to do with Quattro or front-wheel drive either.

Sure, here's the translation:

"Thank you, TDI-GTI-4-Motion."

The comment made me realize that the BMW 5-series used to differentiate exhaust pipes based on the number of cylinders: a single exhaust pipe for 4-cylinder engines, and dual exhausts for engines with 6 cylinders or more.

Audi does this too, at least according to the price list, in a place where I wouldn't have expected it.

Quote:
Exhaust tailpipes, visible, dual exhaust, with one tailpipe on the left and one on the right; for A5 Coupe 1.8 TFSI, 2.0 TFSI and
2.0 TDI, single-sided, two tailpipes on the left; for A5 Cabriolet 2.0 TDI, single-sided, two tailpipes on the left

However, this contradicts the configurator, which changes the images depending on the engine selection.
