Hello.
I need help with the following problem:
The xenon lamps on both sides and the ballast on the left side have been replaced.
The light is working perfectly again.
Only since then has the warning light been flashing on the instrument cluster.
Error log entry:
FC1539: Headlights not adjusted.
FC1042: Control unit coding is missing or incorrect.
FC2656: Left headlight power module not coded.
FC2657: Right headlight power module not coded.
The default settings or encoding were attempted using Gutmann MegaMacs55.
Unfortunately, without success. The errors cannot be deleted.
Vehicle details: Audi A4 Avant, 10/2005, chassis number 0588/805, 2.5 TDI engine, 120 kW.
Now, I would like to try and resolve the issue using the VAG-COM software, if possible.
I just purchased the software and I'm a complete beginner.
Thank you in advance.
Best regards, Michael.

You must first properly code the control units, then clear the error memory, and then perform the basic settings.
The correct coding will be displayed by the "blubber bubble" when you hover the mouse cursor over the coding input field in VCDS.
To adjust the headlights:
Okay, I'm ready. Please provide the German text you want me to translate.
Best regards, Rainer.

While coding, an error message appeared, but she unfortunately doesn't remember the exact message anymore, something about "33".
I entered the code from the airbag module, Audi A4, code: 0000019.
The vehicle is currently back on the road.

Unfortunately, it doesn't provide much information. Please always include the complete vehicle scan in such cases.
Best regards,
Rainer

Is the vehicle scan saved as a log file somewhere, or how does it work?

Hello,
You are performing a vehicle scan. You can either paste the results here or click "Save" to add them to the diagnostic log.
Best regards, Rainer.

What just occurred to me is that when I tried to code the control unit yesterday, I received a message saying that I was not authorized or did not have the necessary permissions.
That's why I couldn't enter the code from the bubble.
Where can I get codes like that? I hope to hear from you .

I think you're mixing something up; let's do a scan first, and then we can talk more.

First, I tried to clear the error codes, but it didn't work.
Then I tried to encode it using the code from the "Blubberblase" -> that didn't work either.
An error message appeared with code 33 and an authorization issue.
My colleague is now working at Audi, and the problem has been resolved.
Unfortunately, I don't have any details yet.
How do you get access to all those codes?
Does Audi have to approve it?

No, they are configured within the VCDS installation. You don't need a login code for your encoding.
If you're completely helpless with your vehicle, there's also this option:

For the next vehicle with issues, I will follow the sequence of actions: Autoscan, then post [information/updates], etc.
Unfortunately, the timing just didn't work out this time. It was a vehicle belonging to a colleague.
"Nevertheless, thank you for your help."
Best regards,
Michael
