VCDS 11.11.5 is outdated, VCDS: Software is outdated

Unfortunately, the new VCDS release was not completed in time. The messages stating that VCDS 11.11.5 is outdated can be ignored, as the functionality of the program is not affected by this.

New orders will be delivered with software version 11.11.6. Updates to the upcoming release will be provided as usual, free of charge, or via the automatic update mechanism of VCDS.

Improvement suggestions:

1. Adding an "Don't show this again" option in the speech bubble, so that only one click per release is needed to disable it.
or
2. Automatic hiding of information after ~ 3 seconds and release of normal menu functions without requiring the user to click.
or
3. Display the information with forced clicks only for ~ 5 starts from VCDS - after that, most users should understand what it's about. Optionally, starting from the 6th. Automatic switching to Solution 2 with the outdated VCDS version.

From my point of view, the entire function is unnecessary. One can clearly see the effect.
A note in the initial window "please regularly or occasionally check the shop for updates" is perfectly sufficient.

Conversely - if someone is unable to click a simple message, they haven't understood anything and are unfortunately completely overwhelmed by the subject matter.

That probably has a reason:

Because there are unfortunately also "copies" of VCDS that only "function" up to a certain version. Then it is also good that this message comes in the way it does.

It was shocking to see what was being sold on the used market as a "legitimate" VCDS.


It should probably be feasible to check the software every 3 months for a new version, given its quality. Otherwise, we follow what Auto Service says.

Where is the problem?

I saw this once and clicked away.
I checked for updates the second time, but there was nothing new. Okay.

Now the solution has been received.
I wouldn't have even asked about this if it hadn't completely stopped working.
