Retrofitting GRA for VW T-Cross

I'm new here and I already have a question:

We have a VW T-Cross 1.0 from 2021.
MKB: DLAA
GKB: URG

The T-Cross only has a speed limiter, without ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) or GRA (Gearbox Reconnaissance Algorithm) functionality. PR: 8T9

Is it possible to activate the GRA function using VCDS?
If so, how?

I suspect that this coding cannot be performed with VCDS. It probably only works through the central server to ensure that the equipment list is correctly stored in the database, so that the coding isn't reset again during the next visit to the workshop.

For the car, the GRA (presumably a feature or system) is activated via SwaP, which means it must be unlocked by Volkswagen. Only after this unlocking can you use VCDS for coding. (However, it would be advisable to have Volkswagen perform the coding directly.)

Since the bits are not described here, I'll write it like this:

In MSG byte 5.
Bit 4 enabled = GRA - PR-8T2/8T6.

Bit 6 activated = Adaptive GRA with ACC - PR-8T5.

Bit 5 and 6 activated = Adaptive GRA with ACC and Front Assist (PR-8T3/8T8)

Here's the translation:

"For example, if only GRA were used for the new encoding in the MSG, it would be..."

In the STG 19 module, the APK "SFT271921-MAS06614-Control unit for multifunction steering wheel variant" should be set to GRA-High.

I have a T-Cross here that came with Front Assist from the factory.

So, only the speed limiter is activated.

It has the MFL pro installed.

Unfortunately, all the bits in the MSG/brake control module are undocumented.

I entered the value "24" for you into the MSG. As a result, the limiter symbol disappeared from the MFA, and the ACC symbol appeared, but there are errors in the brake control module and in module 13.
What else do I need to recode in these two devices?

Does anyone know the settings in the brake control unit and the "13er" (likely referring to a specific module or system)?

Hi, you need to enter "64" in the MSG field on your end. The 24 was the example without ACC for the above.

I'm just chiming in here. This week, I retrofitted a cruise control system to my Q2, which is a model from December 2021. The SVM codes were provided by the seller.

My local Audi dealer wasn't thrilled to just be allowed to/required to make the adjustment. That means he rejected it outright.

Is it possible to activate the GRA function using VCDS?

PR: 8T9

The vehicle only has a speed limiter.
