Mechanic Wanted (R5 TDI PD) for Main Bearing

Hello everyone,

I have a Touareg parked on my farm that has unfortunately been contaminated with diesel fuel.


After extensive searching and various emails to engine repair shops, I now find myself in a difficult situation, as the local workshops either don't manufacture aluminum blocks or don't have enough time due to a lack of staff.

The question now is, does anyone know of a workshop where you can have the engine fitted with guide bushings?

Have you had any personal experiences with them? To be honest, the multimedia aspect is a bit intimidating to me. The focus should be on the work, not the camera work.

Regarding the costs, it's noteworthy that Tornau Motors offers refurbished engine blocks for 3500,- and new, original VW engine blocks for 3000,-. Their 24-month warranty, without mileage restrictions, for VW vehicles, exclusively for workshops.

Normally, one could have accepted the offer well (if something else had also been faulty), but 3000+ euros for 10 bushes is outrageous, and 5 drills plus pressing, plus one plan, is also a bit too much. Here, they charge 80 per bush for drilling and 65 for planing. With these prices, I can't even afford half. Even with new pistons and bearings, I remain below half.

Therefore, I was wondering if anyone might know a company that offers this service.
