Hello,

Since I've been driving my Golf 3 into an underground garage about 5 times a week for the past 2 years, and every time the front lip of the bumper gets stuck on the bottom, that part is now quite damaged.
Soon I won't have to rely on this garage anymore, and I'd like to buy a spare part. But which one? Is it the "big" one from the GTI/VR6, or the same "small" one that was on my GT?

I'm only concerned about the benefits. I don't care about the aesthetics at all. Apparently, the large lip is supposed to direct the air better towards the water cooler and the oil cooler. I heard that the smaller one is supposed to have less air resistance.
Which one makes more sense now?
Thank you in advance for the answers.

Regards,
Thomas.

I really can't imagine that the large lip is supposed to bring air into the LLK (likely referring to a specific aerodynamic component). I think the only 'benefit' is a deeper appearance and increased aerodynamic drag. Perhaps I'll also be convinced that increasing the tire pressure improves road grip because less air gets under the vehicle, resulting in better handling.
