Audi Concert II: Troubleshooting & Safe Mode Fix

Hi,

I recently bought a set of Concert speakers for my 1998 A4.
The problem with the missing CAN-BUS was quickly resolved.

After I had wired everything and connected the radio, the display showed "SAFE". It was supposed to do that, of course...

By pressing the RDS and TP buttons simultaneously, you would normally access the code entry screen... but don't count on it.

Nothing is happening. No matter what I do, I can't get to the code input screen.

I've even left it running for an hour before, in case someone entered the wrong code, but nothing happened...

Does anyone have any ideas?

I might be wrong... but could it be that the radio is trying to communicate with the engine control unit via the CAN bus, but it's failing? I can easily imagine that this could be the cause of the problem.
It might, of course, be complete nonsense, but I think I once heard something like that.

Do you also press both buttons for at least 15 seconds? Otherwise, nothing happens.

Everything has been clarified.

The seller obviously included the wrong instructions.

According to the instructions, the TP and RDS buttons should be pressed simultaneously.

In reality, they are SCAN and RDS.

Hmm, I thought I had already tried all the combinations, but I guess not.
