What about slotted brake discs and brake noise?
I changed the brake discs on my Passat over two years ago, from the standard 288mm front disc to slotted Zimmermann discs with standard ATE pads, and I haven't noticed any changes in noise during normal operation.
I haven't yet performed the test to significantly reduce the speed, simply because there hasn't been a need to do so.

Bye.
peace

Well,

That actually gives me hope. That's exactly the combination that's currently my favorite, so sports discs with standard pads...

I think I'll try it now... I definitely need to replace them within the next 2-3 weeks, because the braking performance is getting worse.

I always thought it was a bit weak that the standard windshields only lasted 70,000 km with normal driving.

I've already used up two sets of tires, and the current ones still have about a third of their lifespan left.

Okay,

To conclude, I ultimately chose TRW brake discs (standard disc) and TRW brake pads with rain grooves.

Since then, the problem with wet braking has disappeared, and the braking performance is excellent. Even now, with the rain and all the salt, I don't experience that initial feeling of the pedal going soft before the brakes engage and the dirt washes away.

And with a price of 30€ per disc and 35€ for the set of toppings, I couldn't really complain.
