"Actually, you shouldn't do that for environmental reasons, but I would still put it in, as an initial lubricant for the carburetor."
"Some people add 1/4 liter of oil to the fuel tank. I don't. That would be 0.5 to 1% oil."
"There are also some older drivers (e.g., those with Mercedes-Benz 123 series vehicles with inline pumps) who still use additives like Divinol or similar diesel fuel additives, claiming they result in a smoother engine running and have never caused pump problems."
If oil is needed, then 2-stroke oil is most likely the best choice.
Generally, I would rather decline.
The issue was about saving the fuel pump due to a temporary lack of diesel lubrication.

Engine oil is unsuitable as an additive due to its high additive content, and should only be used in emergencies. 2-stroke oil burns cleanly and does not damage the catalytic converter. However, its use with a DPF is borderline. The ash content is low with the right selection, but still much higher than that of a real diesel fuel.
Thanks to the addition of RME, 2-stroke oil is no longer needed for lubrication, except perhaps for the cleaning additives it contains (on the combustion chamber side).

Hello.

After the incorrect refueling, the car ran normally until yesterday. Only once did it start very poorly after being stationary for 30 minutes.

However, the brother-in-law now reports the following:
After a 6-hour drive on the highway in extreme cold and snow, the brother-in-law's preheating light suddenly starts flashing. At the same time, the ESP (Electronic Stability Program) light remains on continuously. After a brief stop, everything returns to normal. Then, the lights come on again, but the accelerator pedal position is ignored, and the cruise control no longer works. Again, everything returns to normal. Now, both lights are on again (the preheating light is flashing, and the ESP light is on continuously).

That has nothing to do with the incorrect fueling, right?[/b]

Hello Kottan!

The only thing that will help right now is to read the error codes and report them here!

...it might possibly be a problem with the brake light switch, but in a 2007 model??
