"Never install new rotors with old brake pads. I would never do that; those few euros are well spent on the brakes. Then you'll have peace of mind."

Okay, please provide the text you would like me to translate from German to English.

I have 2 slices, 4 toppings, and a few percent [of something].

Does it involve applying any ceramic paste, or are they now completely installed dry?

Is the protective coating on the glass only removed at the point of contact?
Is the investment in the hub still protected?

@ dieselmartin
My own experience shows that it disappears immediately when braking and doesn't cause any problems with the brake pads.
Furthermore, only the surface area is actually cleaned, which will likely not prevent the rest of the brake disc and pads from rusting over time.
Let him do it and go for a ride.

I left it on there too (I replaced the brake pads on both the front and rear axles at the same time). For a week or two, you could still see small pieces of the rolled-up paint on the caliper, but they eventually disappeared. The braking performance was always good.

Does anyone know where to find ceramic paste?

I would have applied a coating to the sliding edges of the flooring guides.
Possibly also the back sides of the tiles.

Hello Martin, you can easily apply ceramic paste to the surface of the plates. However, I usually do it with a small brush in the plate carrier, as the carrier itself comes down and needs to be cleaned.
The back of the flooring is often already coated, but it's not a mistake to apply another coat.

Currently, I'm receiving the Zimmermann brake discs (with the last two digits being -20 instead of -00) that are coated like the original equipment (OE) discs, and I haven't had them sanded. The coating provides quick braking performance on the friction surface, and the rest of the disc, including the edges, remains protected, which isn't as effective when the discs are sanded.
The silver coating is, in my opinion, not paint, but rather an aluminum or zinc layer.

If the noise from the rubbing is bothersome, as your comment suggests, I would replace everything and not compromise on quality for the sake of longevity.

I don't want to hope for wheel bearings, because I just have a complete set of brakes (2 discs, 4 pads) here.

On the other hand, I'll know for sure then.

That's how I do it too.

I'm always wondering what the disc will look like after another 30,000 km. If it's only 1 mm below the minimum thickness, it will be replaced, unless a cost-effective repair is possible to extend its lifespan for the remaining half-year of its inspection validity.
But you have a nice car, and it's also fast.
