Hello,

Does the car have Servotronic steering, and will it make the steering feel lighter or heavier (easier or harder to turn) depending on the noise it makes (e.g., humming, whining, squealing)?

Is there any known background information? While the fact that the fluid level is at its minimum isn't a major issue, it usually indicates some underlying cause.

Hello everyone,

So far, I have replaced the following parts:

- Free running
- Tension roller
- Belt

When I bought the car, the fluid level was at its minimum mark, and since then it has dropped by approximately 1 millimeter.
It's proving difficult to record the noise because it's very faint and only occurs when steering. However, I will try to capture it.
It doesn't matter whether the air conditioning is on or off.
It's most noticeable when reversing into a parking space.
The steering always feels the same in terms of lightness/heaviness, except when turning while stationary (which I try to avoid), where it initially feels a bit stiffer.
I'm not entirely sure whether the car has Servotronic or not icon_redface.gif.
It's an S-Line model, so I would guess it has Servotronic steering.

Sure, here's the translation:

"SG" can have different meanings depending on the context. It could stand for "Spielgemeinschaft," which is a German term for a sports club or association that combines players from multiple teams or organizations. Alternatively, it could refer to "Säkularkantor," a type of church musician who does not hold religious beliefs. Finally, "SG" might be an abbreviation for "Sonstige," meaning "other" or "miscellaneous."

I've now replaced the tensioner and the freewheel.
So far, I haven't heard anything more, but if that changes, I will post it here.

Thank you for your help.

Hello everyone,

Unfortunately, the noise is still present.

Available or still in stock?

And where is the fluid leaking to, or did the level only stabilize after filling because there was air in the system? If the level continues to drop and no leaks are visible at first glance, you should check under the dust covers to see if any fluid has accumulated there. If so, a new steering rack will likely be needed soon.

Hello,

Yes, unfortunately, it's back again.
I'm starting to feel like it gets louder when the box is warm.
The steering boot is dry.
The oil level doesn't change beyond the specified 1 mm, so it has stabilized.

Since this issue only occurs when steering, with or without the accelerator pedal engaged, I'm starting to suspect it might be the pump.
