What strategy is Volkswagen actually pursuing here? The Golf IV should be lifted at the edges of the sills. The Golf III or Passat 3B must not be lifted in that exact location.

Do you have to study the body construction of each vehicle before putting it on a lift?

But what about strategy? Why is the edge of the threshold at the rear of the 6L reinforced where there is no weight, and not at the front?

You don't have to be a complete novice to damage the threshold. A specialized workshop can easily fix it.
