This is what the auto-scan reported.

The brake or ESP system has an error. That's why I'm looking into it. The climate control also occasionally displays incorrect values, but not always. I'll run another car scan later to see if they are communicating with each other.

That's exactly my problem. With both vehicles, I don't have reliable access to all the control units, and there are many disconnections, which is curious because it never happens with the engine control unit.
