Hello everyone!

I have another question about the repair kit, as the small tube on our Golf 4 has now also broken.
How can I tell if it's a Valeo motor? Unfortunately, I can't find any indication of the manufacturer on the casing.
The identification plate is also barely legible. The part number should be 3B0 955 711 A, but this is without any guarantee, as the identification plate is almost completely faded.

"And are there no repair kits available for engines from other manufacturers? Is the internal structure so different that the repair kit cannot be used universally?"

In Austria, the repair kit is no longer available.
I don't know how it is in Germany.

If the repair kit consists of just a small tube that is glued in place of the old one, I highly doubt its durability (perhaps ~1 year?).

I bought a used engine and I'm very happy with it.
People are cleaning the rear hatches, but the engines are being left behind.

My original motor was made by Bosch; it had a cast iron housing and a metal cover on the back (attached with Torx screws).
After that, I got a Valeo one, which had a plastic housing. I'm not sure if that's a general characteristic. I might be able to look up the part number if you'd like.
It's strange, isn't 3B0 supposed to be a Passat?

I spoke with the friendly person on the phone today. They said that there is no repair kit available for my engine, but only for the 8L0 955 711 type.

Hmmm, I don't really believe that, but what can you do? They want almost 28 EUR for the repair kit. Now I've bought a used one in almost perfect condition from ****.

By the way, my rear wiper motor already has the plastic housing. I bet the repair kit would fit...

I immediately had two engines with broken brass tubes lying around after the exchange (one from an A3 and one from a Golf), so I can come up with my own repair solution for both .
