Here's a video; it's a bit old, but you can clearly see how the BKD engine shakes.
The rattling sound you are hearing is the brake pedal.

All data material relevant to the case should be uploaded in this section; see below for details.
Okay, I'm ready. Please provide the German text you want me to translate into English. Just paste it here, and I will give you the translation.

Hi, disassemble your high-pressure pump and rebuild it. I had the same problem with my BRD. After that, it worked perfectly again. You can also play it safe and have the pressure holding capacity of the tandem pump checked. In the SS (self-diagnostic) data for the idle speed control at the beginning of the thread, you can already see a larger deviation in fuel injection quantity for cylinder 4, which is still within the acceptable range, but it indicates that one of the high-pressure pumps may not be sealing properly.

Best regards.

The tandem pump was replaced, but the problem remains unchanged.

The power distribution elements (PDEs) were ultrasonically cleaned and resealed.

I now need information to configure the PDE (presumably a specific device or system), but I can only find the technical article about the 1.9L PD engine.

Best regards, Melli.

This is essentially the same principle as with the 1.9 PD engine.

They are rotated 180 degrees back from the lower stop.

Torque specification for nozzle attachment:

Level I = 3 Nm.
Level II = rotate 90 degrees.
Level III = Rotate 180 degrees further.

Important: Tighten evenly and carefully, otherwise the nozzle will move back and forth during tightening.

Tighten the pivot lever shaft to 20 Nm and then rotate it an additional 90 degrees.
Sequence --> alternating from the center outwards.

The screws for the pressure discs and the pivot lever shaft need to be replaced.

Thank you for the information.

The PIDs are now reset, and the Octavia started again.

It's now clearly running on all four cylinders.

The test drive was successful, and the jerking/stuttering is completely gone.

We'll check how easily it starts and runs when it's cold tomorrow.
We haven't found the source of the water leak yet. After pressure testing the system, it held the pressure of 1.5 bar for over 2 days. We will pressure test it again while it's warm to see if it might be the cylinder head.

Here's the solution to the problem you were experiencing:
The PDES has been cleaned and resealed.

Thank you all for the great help and support!

Best regards, Melli.

Another update.

No more starting problems and no more white smoke.
It's running better than ever. The engine is noticeably improved, and the top speed has suddenly jumped to 225 km/h according to the speedometer icon_wink.gif.

I'll check the water consumption after about 600 kilometers.

Regarding the costs:
"Poetry collection - €35, not for Skodas."
VW ultrasonic cleaning service - €15. Coffee jar included.
(We expanded them ourselves.)
Tilt lever tailshaft screws and Pde screws together - €25 at VW.

Best regards,
Melli

Please forgive me, Autoservice, for opening this again icon_wink.gif.
I would also find it interesting for other readers to know if pa-mm6 or gtikasper were able to identify the cause of the problem (e.g., brittle/cracked seals, etc.) based on the expanded PDE, seals, or ZK (presumably a component), and whether any rework of the sealing surfaces was necessary.
