Hello everyone, I really need a vacation.
Okay, seriously now.
My Galaxy (1Z) is giving me problems again.
While accelerating, it experiences misfires; initially, these occur at 1700-2200 rpm, and it feels like the ignition is being cut off. HOWEVER, IT IS A DIESEL ENGINE.
Now it does that across the entire RPM range, starting from 1700 RPM.
Just so you know, I drove it with almost a full tank yesterday, and the problem started after that.
Please help me; do you have any idea what might be the problem?
The engine is a 1Z with 301,000 kilometers on it. The cylinder head was replaced at approximately 270,000 kilometers, and the ESP (electronic stability program) unit has also been changed (with one that has 120,000 kilometers).
Oh yes, I almost forgot, NO ERRORS IN MEMORY.

Mhhh... well, I'm telling you, I bet there's a connection . What do you think about air in the system? Do you have a piece of clear diesel hose in front of the ESP? Then take a look and see if it's bubbling at all!

If the problem persists after refueling, I would suspect a diesel sludge cloud.
They look particularly beautiful when dancing in almost empty tanks while driving, but then they settle down near any narrow passage or filter, effectively cutting off the supply. Gruß Ulf

Okay... but I don't understand why I then have completely normal engine power?!
He would then have to get worse, wouldn't he?

Yep, I agree.
Then the familiar "bull market" probably begins with volatile price swings:
Check idle speed control, injection timing / NBF, possibly verschandeln the mass airflow sensor (MAF). Gruß Ulf

Yesterday, I finally had some time to take a closer look at my car.
I found the error...
You'll never believe this in your life...
Now the 'thing' is working again, and I can finally...
So, now let's get to the problem:
The problem was with the connector at the fuel injection pump, where my cheap 'tuning' modification was located... I actually wanted to remove the control unit, but then I saw that although the connector seemed properly connected, the contacts were slightly corroded.
I was really frustrated with my Ford, but I'm so glad that nothing was broken.

Ugh... of course, one doesn't immediately think of something like that when posting in a forum.
Well, it's nice that it's working again .
For understanding:
Is it a self-made tuning solution or a purchased device?
Original VAG pump connectors including moisture seals, or self-made connector solutions? Gruß Ulf

With original VAG pump connectors including seals against moisture, or self-made connector solutions?
It's essentially just a $0.10 adjustment, but I was too hesitant to do it myself back then, so I bought it expensively on eBay. It has the original VW connectors and all the necessary components like the gasket.
I'm now wondering if it might be the box itself (due to moisture, etc.).
Best regards,
Michael
