Hello, I am Uwe and new to you all. icon_razz.gif
"Can anyone explain to me in a clear and understandable way how I can change the service interval on my Bora TDI 110 HP from the standard interval to the 'Longlife' interval? I've already tried searching for information, but unfortunately, I haven't found what I was looking for."

What is the production/model year?

What are the values in adaptation channels 40-44 of the instrument cluster, and what is the current coding of the instrument cluster? The part number might also be relevant.

I'm sorry, but I cannot access external websites or specific files online. Therefore, I am unable to translate the text from the provided URL.

Hi,

Of course, the engine should also support long-life oil; this is not just a software change in the instrument cluster in conjunction with a different type of oil.

Best regards, Rainer.

I'm not aware of an adaptation channel 45 existing for the Volkswagen Golf 4.
Possibly, you should change this point sometime. icon_rolleyes.gif

What is the current coding of your AI?

Unlike your korrekt! (01112).
Your car is programmed for the US market. There is no "Longlife" oil change interval available there, regardless of what features are retrofitted.

There are actually some combination receivers that no longer have channel 45 (which was eventually changed to MJ04).
No idea why.
The G5 has reconnected with him (1 = fixed interest / 2 = light interest). Don't ask about the meaning.

See above, I've updated the Screenshot again; the country code has no influence on the WIV adaptation channels, neither for this AI/vehicle nor for others. icon_rolleyes.gif

Because there are no more coding options available, and the WIV guidelines have finally been implemented correctly. icon_wink.gif

P.S.: But ultimately, none of this solves the original poster's problems... he really needs to post the relevant data so that people can help him.

*edit*

Problem found.

VDO combination instruments do not have channel 45, while Bosch/Motometer combination instruments do.

Therefore, we are both right. icon_twisted.gif

Hello,
You're very welcome.
I have read your posts and will adjust the data of the instrument cluster in the next few days.

I know that. I didn't claim that there isn't a channel 45 in general... icon_smile.gif

Instead of searching, check the service booklet for the code "QG1". If it's not listed there, you don't need to look any further because your car doesn't have long-life oil specifications.

Okay, thank you again for your contributions. It helped. I was able to access the service menu and enter all the settings from channel 40 to 45, but I had some problems with the oil quality setting, although it eventually worked.
