Hello,
"I have an Octavia EZ from 12/98 with 110 hp, and the timing belt needs to be replaced soon, as the scheduled interval of 90,000 km is approaching. My question is whether I can use the longer interval of the ASV engine, which I believe is 120,000 km, for this engine. After all, the timing belt kit used for the AHF engine is the same as the one used for the ASV engine, starting from engine number 006xxx. And mine has engine number 181055." It would be pointless to spend several hundred euros on such an old vehicle.
Best regards,

Hi.
A timing belt kit, for example from Contitech, doesn't cost less than 100 euros, and if someone doesn't think their car, or its maintenance, is worth that amount, they should consider whether a bicycle might be a better and more affordable alternative.
Replacing a used engine with a new one, including installation, will certainly cost four digits, and so will buying a newer car. Therefore, this is not a question for people who are financially savvy.
Best regards, Rüdi.

I would replace all 90,000 miles' worth. Okay. Could you ask the manufacturer? I did the same thing with my Audi, and I received a response from Audi after one day. Please provide the vehicle identification number (VIN) when making the request.

Believing does not mean knowing, and therefore you are also wrong!
The ASV typically has a maintenance interval of 90,000 km.
The motor block was not redesigned and the position of the idler pulleys was not modified until 2002. With this modification, the motors received a 120,000 km service interval. Whether the specific ASV was affected or is affected can only be determined precisely by checking the engine number.
In any case, that doesn't apply to your AHF!

My car's owner's manual, from the middle/end of 1998, specified a maintenance interval of 90,000 km and then 60,000 km for the timing belt replacement. Without any guarantee, there was a different belt at some point, and then it had 90,000 km on it again.
Are there any other topics related to this? 120,000 km would likely be the mileage for a total loss claim under warranty.

Was that the AHF with the foggy CT946?
Then, the attached PDF applies.
He drove 90,000 kilometers with the CT1044.
